Valid point friend, but I think they must have already thought about or dealt with that since they have the movie "Bored of the Things". But perhaps while that is okay, to launch an event on the same day might not be. I am pretty sure they would be careful about that.
It would certainly be one reason why we might not see that happen.- I think they wouldn't need to worry about copyright havering the episode already.

Parody law my friend, reality check 1..2?- Horrible movies don't deserve an event.

Avoided if it's a parody event like CoC. Warner Bros. owns the rights to Lord of the Rings video games which includes anything made based off of The Hobbit franchise, anything made would have to be a parody of the series and not a direct link to it. Even if they got the blessing from Warner Bros. there is already mobile games based off the series making it pointless to allow this game to use their license when it directly competes with their existing games...
Considering the 17th we will be at least a week if not two weeks into the Christmas event I don't think this will happen. And since they aren't doing an episode parodying the movies I doubt they will do an event anyway. But maybe a future event when the DVDs come out.- Didn't they do a couch gag on this? I think they did.
- Um why the hobbit exactly? There has never been a parody of it in the show so it would make no sense.
- Not for christmas but maybe as a future event
