I think it may be a case of them not fixing it due to the weekend, but as they aren't showing up in the characters list... well, that could indicate that they may not have intended to release them (and I really hope that isn't the case - i would like to get them too).
In the past, we've seen a couple petition-like threads seemingly work (I say seemingly because it's possible EA had always intended on fixing the issue and it just coincided with the thread getting support), where people keep the responses to a simple "I'm in" "me too" "count me in" (or another short response). Perhaps if a thread like this was created, and it gathered a lot of support from several different people, EA will take note of it.
Or maybe they will see this thread and take note of it :)
Or perhaps they have been working on fixing them and intend to re-release them with the next update (I think someone above thought that might be the case).
Hope we see them re-released soon - whatever the case may be. :)
EDIT to add: LPN said they were supposed to be available until Mar 21? Hmmmm. IMO the fact that they had an end date could indicate that the release was intentional (even if they aren't in the characters list). So that gives me hope that they will fix it and re-release them :)
