Easy way to tell if your friends are actively playing

But has anyone else noticed that their buildings have been tagged? every town I go to has NOTHING to click on.. but I just went into my town && someone had tagged my school.... say whaaaa? lol
Before you finish your first batch of roses to kickstart the event you can visit your neighbors and do the standard actions.- You can also delete now & delete your pending friends. If you ever invited someone and they didn't accept, you have pending friends. They can make your game lag. I removed 340 for a friend & now it's perfect!

Nope, it's not just you. It's maddening the way the list always resets to the top. I usually just check a few friends at a time--towns that don't have anything to tap and aren't growing roses. There's no way I can scroll down more than a couple times without losing my patience.
