- I normally wait for a month to two months or not playing before i considering removing people, anything less than a month just doesnt seem right.
All depends on how well you know your neighbours as well to whether they even get removed - I've grown to be less and less "sentimental", when it comes to neighbors.
I'm a daily player myself, so I aim to have neighbors who are just as obsessed as I am.
4+ days (to allow for an unexpected hairy weekend) of an inactive town (nothing left to click) gets you the boot in my neighborhood. - Usually takes me a while to delete people. I still have some forum friends on my list that have been inactive for months. I'm a pretty lazy neighbour myself so it doesn't bother me that they're not visiting.
- I don't have a general rule, usually it's about 2-3 weeks but I don't really check that often. Since I myself have taken longer breaks from this game, especially this summer, I usually allow my neighbours to do the same. I don't keep 100 neighbours all the time and I'm not that fussy about anyone deleting me, that's their choice.
Forum friends I keep a little longer and try to see if they are online here or not. - I got most of my initial neighbors from Gamefaqs. Those players are not very consistent. They move on and forget about their SF. I'm trying to remove all of them unless they have nice SFs or are really active. Which is rare.
Forum member from here, though.... Never gonna remove them. Unless they post that they are no longer playing and to remove them, of course. :x - barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer

It's a bit of a PITA when you keep going back to both their SF and KL and there's nothing left to do and no bonus to earn. .
When it causes a pain anywhere, I say drop them and find others. I realize things happen and people move away from the game, but it's a game and it's supposed to be fun.
I usually drop non playing friends after about a week or so of no activity. barryriddl474 wrote:

This is generally my rule unless I like the neighbor.- barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer

Yes. This would be an exception to the rule. :) - I normally ask in my topic, and wait they respond or wait couple of weeks or even month.
- AnnathewickedRising TravelerIn event - if a week in you, haven't updated - your cut from my list..... normally, a few weeks with nothing to tap and we're done
