I just simply do not understand the thought behind this update by EA. I do understand that Catholicism is a religion that morphed Paganism and Judaism into one and that Christmas is a Catholic holiday. But that is the point, Christmas is a catholic holiday, not a pagan one. Have a Hanukkah update, cool. Have a Kwanzaa update, could be fun. But Paganism? You have a horned Homer dancing in front of a sacrificial altar on the splash screen. How the **** do you think that is good for a winter holiday event? And not for nothing, but these decorations are poop. I am seriously at a lose of words here.My only hope is that after 10 days, Act 2 becomes more of a traditional Christmas/Holiday event. Epic Fail.

Yeah, let's have a dead or dying man on a cross-shaped torture and execution device everywhere, that's a sooo much better image than a horned Homer with a sacrificial altar! You all need to remember its called WINTER event for a reason.

its because they have done many years of winters in this game and people complain they want something different, so EA tries something different, so them people complain. if they had done a traditional winter like the last several years, people would also complain. cant please everybody. same as every other event. this year people are particularly whiners even before giving the update a chance...some people even posting "hate" threads minutes after the release lol

Positive. I'm an ordained minister, and studied Christian theocracy for 4 years. In the original Latin transcription the word "Crux" was used... meaning simple stake or pole. In Greek scriptures, it breaks down further:

I’m not an expert, but I have talked in the past with people who are, and my understanding is a bit different. Long story short, the Greek words used in the New Testament, stauros and xylon, are ambiguous when it comes to exact shape of the structure. This topic has been the focus of a ton of debate dating back at least as far as the 1500s and the bottom line is no one can be completely sure whether or not there was a crossbar. (And maybe it’s not really important that we know.)

I entered this thread thinking it might actually be about the splash. Why not just add your opinion to one of the many threads already open

But, my splash screen thought: it's a beautiful image. Just good composition and colors. I'm not sure the actual game has that same feel, but I'm happy every time I load the game...because of the art!
