Yes.
I was paying close attention as I knew I was getting close to the prize. After the message popped up my elixir count increased by around 2000. I contacted EA and asked them to verify that 4000 was the correct amount. Once confirmed they were able to add the remaining 2000 to my total.
If you decide to contact I would recommend via phone if possible. On-line chat was a nightmare as the only help I received was a link to a third party page that had all the event details. Quite worthless actually.
