In my opinion Frink is much more useful than Bumblebee Man for the Heights crafting.

Having Frink lets you produce Smart Devices faster, while Bumblebee Man uses up Smart Devices faster.

Go with Frink. He also more central in the storylines and it's good to have him available. I have Frink, but not Bumblebee Man, although I would like to get him soon to help with SH.

Is go Frink first more useful in events but Bumblebee man does have the advantage of giving the tv station a 24 hour task.
I'm currently deciding between Bumblebee man, Luann, disco Stu and Uder.
I can't decide. Mostly leaning towards Luann just because the others all help in monorail or heights

Whenever the topic of most regrettable premium purchase comes up I have to vote BBM. Thought he would be great but only two visual tasks and those are really short.

For OP, given a choice between Frink and Bumblebee Man, I go with Frink. Bbm's visual tasks are wonderful, but there are only 2, and both short. (30 minutes, which I don't use, and 60 minutes ... ). Frink has a great 1-hour task, and another great visual task thats either 8 or 12 hours (cant remember at the moment). Also, I love Frink's building.

@pinklittlebirdie: i would definitely choose Luann. Her questline -- if halted at a specific point -- gives a 12-hour premium-payout task to Springfielders, including most of the freemium characters. I got to that step in her questline yesterday and discovered that Job Manager considers that task as the "default" 12-hour task for all eligible characters. So for overnight, one tap sets up a LOT of characters on premium tasks.

(Before the Job Manager was available, the task was not made default, but it works now. )

A great investment, IMO.

Plus her visual tasks are awesome IMHO, and I like the building. :)

I agree about Fink because of the tasks but probably more so because I'm a geek. :-)

I (kinda) disagree about Luann because Disco Stu is sooooo much cooler! lol
