Futurama is my absolute favourite cartoon. I was quite sad about this news when I heard it this morning. It lasted 7.5 season though which is quite respectable for a niche cartoon. I cant wait for the s7b to air in June.
Also apparently the creators are looking around for another station to pick up futurama but they state for fans not to get their hopes up.
