Agreed. Maybe 4-5 people visit a day and there's no real reason to visit except for a measly few thousand dollars. No incentive.

Like some of the others, I am just biding my time and building up cash for the next update. Got a $100 iTunes card burning a hole in my hands. I do agree that there isn't much impetus to visit your friends other than keeping all five stars. I can put all of characters on 24 hour jobs and take in over $100,000 so there is little reason to visit other Springfield's for a pittance.
On a side point, the Ralphie Wiggum character really creeps me out. I just have him celebrate his birthday and not have to deal with him. At least he isn't as boring as Kearney. They could lose that character and I wouldn't complain.
