Actually, this update has been very good in terms of Consumerism, as it added four buildings and one decoration that add to it (Springfield Mall, Claus Co, Costingtons, Santa's Workshop and Present Depot), apparently without increasing the required number of shops for a perfect rating. Together with all non-premium items, the Casino from Thanksgiving as well as the Fortune Teller Store and the House of Evil from Halloween, I currently need only five Kwik-E-Marts for a 5-Star-Rating. (I also have the Pet Shop, but for some reason that one doesn't seem to contribute to Consumerism.)
For every premium or limited-time shop you don't have, you'll have to add another Kwik-E-Mart for that elusive Five-Star Rating.
Edit: I forgot at least one premium item I own and that contributes to Consumerism: The Aztec Theatre. I might have forgotten a few more (however, I don't own Sprawl Mart, Try-N-Save and the Mapple Store).
