Hey, Maxxspider -- get your meme ready! (I love that woman's affect ... and her scarf is priceless.)
emymarek, You said in an earlier post to eliansukke:
"But I will stand by my original point: it's wrong to complain about something that you've been given for free."
(BTW, you and I will need to agree to vehemently disagree on that issue. My parents never would accept anything inferior -- whether free or not. If my brother mowed the next door neighbor's lawn for free and did a poor job of it, he'd get hit from every side -- my parents AND the neighbor. I believe the snarky way of putting it was "Don't do me any favors". People weren't afraid to tell my brother that his work was crap. That was a value I grew up with. Never be satisfied with anything shoddily done, whether by yourself or by others -- free or paid.)
But back to that quote ... that it's wrong to "complain". I sincerely hope you won't mind (this is not a challenge, btw) telling me which of the items on my list below you would consider a "complaint." Because obviously you're not putting a muzzle on us. I know there's a line at which you would label something a complaint. Would you tell me which of these is a complaint to you? (I numbered them for convenience. Hope that's okay.) :)
TO PREFACE:
I purposely chose a non-event-related "problem" -- something long-term, about the game itself, and not about "events". (NOTE: Pretend the character finder wasn't there! Please!)
Pick the numbers of the ones that are not complaints, okay?
1. The untasked characters blend into the background for me. It's hard to put them on task. Anyone else having this problem?
2. The untasked characters blend into the background too much for us to easily put them on task. I wish they had made it so we had a way to find them.
3. The untasked characters blend in too much. Next time, I hope they realize their mistake.
4. The untasked characters blend in too much. They should fix that.
5. I can't find my characters. They should have made untasked characters visually stand out in the first place.
6. I can't find my characters. If they knew what they were doing, they'd give us a way to find them fast.
7. Don't they know we can't see the untasked characters?
8. What genius came up with the idea that the untasked characters should be impossible to see?
9. This is awful. I can't see the characters so I can't play the game. Do they expect me to be a magician?
10. They know we can't play this event without finding the characters, and we can't find them. This game sucks.
11. At least you can get into your game. (Couldn't resist, folks.)
12. Add me.
I know there's a line you'd draw. Is it the wording that bothers you? Because those all mean the same thing -- we couldn't find untasked characters. (Well, the first ten anyway.)
Unfortunately, no matter WHICH style of wording we use, someone comes charging into the thread and labels the entire THREAD a complaint. They don't wait for the "This game sucks" level. They start in as soon as we mention something is a problem. Because, as they point out, we should be happy for what we have because it was free.
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure our threads about not finding the characters led to the addition of the character finder. It was "discussed" on all of those levels I numbered above -- for months. They finally did it. Perhaps it was because of our discussion about what a hard time we were having.
But I can't prove that was why they added it.
However, the addition of the character finder DOES contradict something you said in the first post:
But if all they hear are complaints, they're not going to give MORE... why should they? If what they've already given hasn't been appreciated, then at what point will they be appreciated? When they've given everything away for free?
Your initial (rather eloquent) post described the wonders of the new. A new product ("free" or otherwise) would never come on the market without complaints about the shortcomings of the existing one. Businesses don't do things ("free" or otherwise) that won't bring in a profit. We'd still be playing Pong (three cheers for memory lane)
I didn't read this either but apparently what i did was rude.
You have really never seen sweet brown before well this is for you.
