I have a fairly large house farm, I'm working my way through buying up all the available land. My Springfield has been such a mess for so long as I was hanging off designing it properly untill I had all the land. Now I have the complete first 2 rows I have built that bit properly, and I'll likely carry on that way till I have all the land. Rebuilding a few rows at a time. I'll probably keep a smaller farm once it's done but it will look more like a housing estate lol
