How does Witch Marge speed up crops?

Witch Marge only takes 4 hours of the crop time. So, if you were to plant Silvertounge (?) which is an 8 hours task, then it would be done in 4 hours. It takes the time away immediately as soon as she gets to Cletus' Farm.

My moonshine had four hours left when I sent witch Marge on the speed up crop task. The moonshine was done immediatly so I planted more moonshine and that went down to 19:59 as soon as I planted it.

Interesting. Usually it only cuts it in half if it's under 8 hours.

Plus you can reassign her for another 4-hour reduction. (Eg, plant a 24-hour crop. Assign Marge. Crop timer immediately resets to 20 hours. 4 hours later your crop timer will be at 16 hours, and Marge is finished. Collect from Marge and reassign her to that task. Crop timer instantly resets to 12 hours. Rinse and repeat.

Not only does the crop finish faster, but you're getting her income at the same time ... And her tasks in that skin pay premium. And it's an awesome visible task.

What's not to like?

She's speeding up my Christmas corn right now. I forgot to plant my corn until really late on September 25 (26? When did we plant that?) and the way it stood I wasn't going to get my corn til late Christmas night. If I use her to speed up a few times I'll get my corn first thing Christmas morning!

I'll have to investigate this more. Maybe I wrote down the finish time after I had already started Marge. My brain just doesn't work as well as it used to now that I'm on diabetes medications.

^I did something similar and the time got halved; to like 17 min. She would have had 4 hrs to go. So I stored Moe's, which freed Marge. Still 17 min to go on the crop. :shock: So I tried it again. :) Stayed at 17 min. But I still think this is strange that this would be allowed. Of course normally you'd want Marge to do the 4hrs and get the reward from her doing that. But if you need her free for something else...

I always plant corn, if I use witchmarge "speed up crop" she takes of 4 hour from growth time. Thus is all good, but if I then "store" Moes (and Marge) the time has still been reduced by 4 hours, and witchmarge can be assigned the same task over and over to really speed up the growth.
