The next land update will probably be Squidport and that's estimated to be 2.25 million in total land costs. Don't know how much you have stacked but that's how much you need saved.

I had over $5M before blowing it on land. I play like I don't have a job or responsibilities and stopped buying stuff for a few months. It started adding up quickly.
