You'll have to wait until the Character Mystery box shows up again in the Thanksgiving event. It probably will.
During an event, you have to get what you want (returning stuff) quickly before the limit is up...returning stuff during events only lasts 5/6 days as they come (by dates when they show up in the store during the event).
