There have been quite a few instances of people remembering scenes from a movie, often quite vividly and fondly, that were never in the movie. Some of them vociferously complaining when the DVD was released and that scene was "removed".
That problem can be compounded though, when they show a scene in the trailer, but it's not in the film at all :lol:
