Krabappel's Voice Over

What are you talking about? Edna never had a voice in TSTO.

  • So just to stir things up a little bit more are we saying this character wasn't voiced?? ;)

Kirk?? yeh, he was voiced... by himself funnily enough; although the opposite may be true about the far-eastern versions of Star Trek :P
  • Just to add my $.02... if EA and Matt Groening were to re- negotiate with the estate of the passing actor(s), it's possible to have these characters voiced. It's all all about $$ and the willing parties to agree on terms and conditions of said contract. On that note... never say never :)
  • I hear music coming out of my fan. Seriously, I do! I know it cannot be, yet there it is.
The brain is a strange thing.

No, it has nothing to do with money. The contracts for the main cast (who all recently renewed their deals together) likely have provisions that let Fox/Gracie license out their voices without the actors' further consent.

Going beyond would require going to individual actors and just be a hassle, which nobody is ever going to do.

When I spoke of $$$, I'm talking in terms of lawyer fees & etc that goes along with the etal of estates. Even though several people made living contracts, when a person passes, their estates can re- negotiate another contract after the original contract has expired. It also depends on every single clause stipulated in these contracts as well as living will contracts and estates. You are so right to it being a big hassle, but who is to say what people will do when someone passes.

    Also to add:

When heirs of said estates get into the mix of things, it does boil down to $$ and how far they are willing to go to get more, the majority of the time. It's a known fact that when a person passes some people go through any means necessary to have money. Heirs fight all the time about money that wasn't initially theirs, but they want more. It's not right...but they go through hoops trying to get their hands on any nickel or dime. I've seen it personally and it can be ugly.
