Don't worry about the XP you're accruing going away, it'll continue to collect and apply upon the next level(s?) being added with the next update. Don't make the levels the ends to your means, work...

i never remember to look if my accrued XP when maxed out transfers over when new levels are added. can anyone else verify if this is actually the case?
It is not the case. Xp does NOT continue to accumulate after you reach the cap.
However, everyone who is at the cap will see some sort of xp boost when the new levels are released. But they are set amounts, and have no bearing whatsoever on the xp you would've been accumulating since maxing out on the current levels.
