As a kid I was all about marvel. Loved the starjammers brood bit. Loved the be yonder. Kinda lost interest after fall of the mutants though.
Of late I definitely prefer the batman animated series and the gothic architecture like bioshock in it.
And lobo kicked *.
Superman is/was/will always be lame, excepting in " the dark night returns" graphic novel and the episodes in batman the animated series where he dresses up as batman while Bruce is under brainiacs control. When ban threw "batman" into a wall as hard as he could and the wall collapsed... And then "batman" stood up and dusted off his shoulder was hilarious.
So many good non dc or marvel comics as well. Johnny the homicidal maniac for instance. Sandman for another.
