Max Levels for Castles, skins

According to the dialogue the level you are at when the event ends is somehow represented in the skin/outfit of the character. Not sure how it's going to work, but it also stated it wouldn't be visible until AFTER the event ends.

Castle Levels
Barbarian Castle - 16
Castle Recycle - 16
Boxingham Palace - 16
and YES, I spent a LOT of donuts.
My gold count is currently at 48,849. I have done a TON of raiding.
Is there a reason you stopped at 16 for the castles, or is that max? Or is it just not worth it? I really want lots of walls, towers, and some gates for my grand idea, and want to make sure I get enough.
Once every castle reaches level 10 you can purchase ANY of the upgrades for that castle. The downside is that the only castle that costs elixer is the barbarian castle. The other 2 (Lisa and Barts) cost donuts for extra walls, towers, etc.
