What’s your monorail travel times? Are all the stations linked together or separated? Does it run the outskirts of town or cut through your town?I was thinking of breaking mine up to separate stations and thought I’d time the current run. Was surprised it was shorter than I thought! Only 4min 37sec. And it goes all the way around town both sides of the mountain range And zigzags all through town. However, I know I’m missing one station, but think there’s more that I’m missing. Just wondering if anyone else has timed their monorail trips :)

Before I removed it, mine was just over 5 and 1/2 minutes long. I had multiple end loops and parallel runs. Then one day, just tore it all out except for one station and a small loop around the Christmas area.

I am still undecided which method i prefer, but for now I'm committing to having multiple rail lines. They will all be "system connected" so if i ever do decide to drop down to a single line for all stops, it shouldn't be too much work. But I'm trying to have multiple trains moving at all times. I enjoy seeing them coming and going into the stations. I suspect when i hit the item limit, it'll be the monorail that gets reductions first. I would love to have a 4min monorail ride though, that's quite an achievement. I accepted your friend req (thanks!) yesterday, but will have spare time to visit your SF today. I'm going to take that 4m37s ride, right now! ?

I agree completely. As I'm rebuilding my town, I'm integrating the monorail track as best i can, to NOT conceal features of the game. I really dislike when tracks obstruct an animated task. I avoid it at all costs. I've deconstructed some good scenes because once i realized an animated task was being obstructed, i had to redo it.

Same here with animated tasks and buildings. All characters even have set jobs for my favourite animations. Mona has been hosting an open Evil Lair for years.

I have one continuous loop that runs around SH, thru the mountains, then all thru Springfield with a number of long runs (with returns) along the edges of town - a total of about 8 minutes including station stops. I also have other trains that run on much shorter tracks - I would guess those are in the 2-3 minute range each. And I have somewhere around 10K track pieces in storage. The item limit is the only thing keeping me from adding more track to my monorail system as building it is the main reason I kept on with TSTO.

You were one of the towns I got my inspiration from, but back than it was only a 5-6 minute run.

8 is a massive run! Nice.

Monorail goes thorough its own rail tunnels, and there are two.

The catch with these tunnels, IF YOU HAVEN'T USED THEM YET AND DON'T KNOW, THIS IS IMPORTANT: they are what determines the alignment of your entire rail system. If you want them to go through to SH (and back) on a single rail system, you have to place one of those tunnels first, then align your entire system with what the tunnel dictates.

If it's off just one space, your whole system would need to be moved to coordinate with it. The only alternative is to have your SH rail be an independent line.
