Because simply the person has made it public. Any opinion that has negative vibes will create some response negatively.
'If it's their opinion and their friend list' attitude then why make it public?
The OP has made it public to see what the response of others are, some will agree but others will not.
So making it public has the right of others to make their opinion too.
