You do know your Springfield will still work fine if you don't have every item available dont you.

I think the monorail episode is awesome. BUT I don't really want it in my town. I don't really see a way they can implement it that will work, aesthetically speaking. I guess they could pleasantly surprise me. And if they do, I promise to give it the ole college try. It woukld have to come with Lyle Lanley but honestly? If we're going to get a Phil Hartman character I would much rather it be Lionel Hutz. (With I Can't Believe It's A Law Firm?) Even Troy McClure would be better. (He could have a questline involving Selma!)
