I work with a guy from Nairobi. Last week I made a dumb remark about it being Africa hot. He said it doesn't get this hot back home, or people just don't whine about it as much 8). I bought that funny man a large hot chocolate

nothing beats cooling down with a nice large cup of HOT chocolate

Without getting all scientific on you it is actually better for you to drink hot liquids if you want to cool down than cold ones.
Oh it was a joke :P

But you are completely right. I drink earl grey. No sugar. Most drink sweet tea, ( a mix of pekoe and black), brew it with a ridiculous amount of cane sugar and serve it over ice.

I drink my tea strong, hot and untainted. And I get it shipped from Leeds, a cousin buys it at Tesco thank you very much lol ;)

I didn't want to look like a joke killer :) but yes hot water , tea anything actually cools you down quicker to blood temperature and the brain, without taking this thread and derailing it into science.

Oh Lissa, please don't mention August. I'm trying to pretend it won't happen :D

My husband grew up in the "armpit of hell" AKA Wichita Falls, Texas....a place that routinely logs some of the hottest temps in the country. So, I'm sure you can feel his pain. He actually loves Virginia because he finds it much cooler than where he grew up, lol.

However, when he was in Dubai he said that it was so hot that the steel walls of the ship were sweating!! Can you imagine? They have to keep their equipment air conditioned so the contrast between the temps in the spaces and outside were so extreme that the ship started sweating.

Hopefully the ship didnt have bo along with the sweat lol

LOL ships have a stench uniquely their own, do not miss the smell of ships. Not one bit.

It's not only hot but crazy humid which makes it even worst. It's why I get up at 5am to exercise, I like to be back indoors no later than 8:30am before the sun amps up that hot humidity. The other day it was 100% humidity and NOT raining. Sticky heat, just gross.
  • I cannot even begin to imagine the funk of that many people breathing and sweating in confined space, no matter how high tech the hvac system is. Again, thank you, all service members. And a special thank you to those that served in close quarters.
