Personally speaking, I think it's quite nice for the folk who've been playing this game since the re-launch to have a couple of little rarities that newer players don't have. In a weird way, it sort of feels like a little thank you from EA for having stuck with the game for so long.

If they could just leave the Duff Racer as a one time only trinket that would be grand.
