Question about friend visits during this event

Noticed the same thing. I assume it's just some sort of glitch where they're not actually accessing the right information to keep the numbers updated. Doesn't really affect game play any, so I'd rather they focus on any other glitches that are found (unless, of course, someone finds a good glitch - that they should leave alone :P )

Edit: I had several neighbours with no casino and had no trouble tapping gamblers in their towns.

I have some friends who seem to not have collected any event currency as well. I know of two reasons which could cause this, one of them is obvious.

The obvious one is that they simply haven't started playing yet. You can check when they last logged into Origin (this doesn't have to be for Tapped Out but it can give you a general idea when they last were online).
Other reason is they haven't been able to play because they got caught with the bad update and their level got reset to 1. Without having an Origin account and their town information backed up onto the server they'll have to wait for an update to fix this before they can start playing again. I believe the fixed update got released half a day ago.

It seems gamblers in friends' towns spawn regardless because they're dependant on whether or not you have updated to the Burns' Casino update so you shouldn't lose any traction from this.

I know I can check to see when they last played, but with a nearly full complement of neighbors this is pretty tedious, and from what I understand the last played date could be for ANY EA game, not just TSTO. Unless this has changed recently.

I'm not planning to eliminate any neighbors for a few days yet, since I would imagine the forced update isn't active yet, but by Sunday I think I am going to start ridding myself of anyone without a casino who doesn't seem to have logged on in a while. Just wish there was an easier way to check.

You're right. Just popped into my other towns and it showed me on 0 chips on all of them also.
