Questline bug or intended questline design?

Hello,

Firstly, I will admit that I like to peak into spoilers at the beginning of event. That said, I was fairly familiar with Act II questline structure even before I started it.

So there is this thing: after placing moonshine shack, new questline called "Oh Come, All Ye Vengeful" starts. It has 4 parts, it deals with business owners vandalizing each others businesses, and after that Maggie is unlocked. At that point two new questline are starting:
- "Burning Wreath of Fire", 3 parts, 4 hours each, just more vandalizing
- "You Better Not Cry", questline concerning Maggie

Now "You Better Not Cry" is interesting. Starts with 30 minutes "welcome task" for Marge and Maggie, and leads into Pt 2. which starts reconciliation between business owners. At this moment it would make no sense to have in same time quest "Burning Wreath of Fire", which features business owners as enemies, and "You Better Not Cry" parts 2 and higher, which features business owners coming along. So at the start of "You Better Not Cry" Pt. 2, the first questline "Burning Wreath of Fire" is just - terminated without any notice.

While it makes sense storywise, I can't help but to notice that we never had chance to finish questline "Burning Wreath of Fire", because it starts in same time as other one, and is terminated after 30 minutes (if tasks are done immediately after they are received). The loss is not big, 300 event currency, but still...

So I think that it would make sense that "You Better Not Cry" (or at least part 2) starts after "Burning Wreath of Fire" is completed, or to not have "Burning Wreath of Fire" at all.

So, whoever wants to complete all Act II tasks (and to be rewarded with event currency) should wait with doing "You Better Not Cry" Part 1 until "Burning Wreath of Fire" is finished.

Agreed Cletus was a bit tricky to get the timing right, and skipping certain tasks helps getting Maggie a little early if your strategy is right. I've got Cletus finishing up the daily task, and will finish up on repairing the roach coach pt4.
Oh Come, All Ye Vengeful PT 4 I did use 2 donuts to unlock Maggie.

I still haven't done all Cletus weekly tasks, there was no point since Ned has similar tasks today, so now two of them are doing their tasks, and will finish tonight or tomorrow morning. Other folks are upgrading Fortress (near the end) and Moonshine shack, and I still haven't started "You Better Not Cry" Pt. 2 as it requires Moe, and he is more useful at the moment upgrading buildings... No rush, it looks like we'll finish all (and have some spare time for bonuts).

It's just that this abrupt termination of "Burning Wreath of Fire" is messing with my OCD
  • I was wondering what happened to the Burning Wreath quests. I had Moe do his part yesterday but today nothing popped up. I was timing them out to make sure characters were free but nothing happened after Moe.

Doesn't matter that much. The 200 even currency won' t matter, for me anyway. I have 26K in mistletoe and with the buildings, the fact that in a few hours I will have Fortress level 3, by tonight I should have the Shack at level 2, along with merry makers, etc...should have almost 29K by tonight which is way ahead of the pace.

I think the calendar on TSTO website said by tonight you'd next 16300 and not 29K until the 30th, so I feel good about finishing.

Well, the calendar is not that useful because earning of event currency is not linear, but still, it looks like you'll have early finish for Act II activities (I am in very similar situation like you)
  • Thank you for pointing this out. I am now on Burning Wreath of Fire: Krusty (first task) and planned to start Maggie's quest in 30 minutes. Now I'll better wait.
