As a side note wife and I call you the Tap Out Gang.
It is in the tips thread:
https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/90074/tips-for-new-players/p1
About halfway down the page. Right after the 8th spoiler.- I don't believe that most newcomers will struggle with it. There really haven't been this many questions about it until you came around. If you need to ask questions that is fine, but I think for most people the guide is more than sufficient. If everything was so detailed it would be an even longer read.
- In all the time that it has been up there, not one person has ever had a problem with the wording, or anything to do with it, until now. That thread has been viewed in excess of 6,000 timesb and while I understand not all 6K have read every word of it, not one of them has felt the need to call out the author.
Until now.... - Yes thats exactly how quite a few people took your first post, as you can see by the response youve recieved here. Negative and offensive. As I have told you before, not everything needs to be aired out here, a PRIVATE message goes a very long way sometimes. Just some food for thought, take it for what it is worth to you
- So you’re saying I’m a liar and didn’t mean what I said. Pretty harsh.
If what you said were true then nobody could ever offer constructive criticism. I understand there are those who make a career of being offended, but that’s not my problem.
When I say a thing I mean it. I don’t hide behind thinly veiled insults and implied criticism because I’m a grown man. If I like something I say it. If I don’t, i say that too. Either way I don’t feel compelled to be nasty about it. After all it’s simply my opinion.
I think I’ve expressed myself openly, and respectfully.
As for you, Rose, calling me a liar without even knowing me, since you don’t believe what I say there’s no reason for me to talk to you again.
You’re now ignored. - Jumper, thank you for speaking up and your support.
As for being deterred, no, not at all. There's great people on this forum and I wouldn't want to miss out on meeting more of them.
Asking questions is a big part of how we all learn. I like the folks here, so yeah, I'll stick around for sure. After I've gotten better at this stuff I hope to be that person who helps the next set of new comers. Sort of, give back to the community. - This is the first information request thread I remember derailing into a discussion of communication strategies. Well done, everyone!
Tell me if I got this wrong, @beastlymm: you think your objection to the wording in the guide is appropriate, but it is inappropriate for others to object to your wording?
Also, I think you might also have chosen the wrong couple people to poke: I've never seen @daved7637397 say an unkind word (which is really something since he's from Philly), and the first post here by @rosesgirlnz includes a gif where she pokes fun at herself (which, I suppose, is to be expected from a person who likes marmite). Why insist they are being willfully obtuse? If, as you say, the "key to successful communication is to be understood," would it not make sense to conclude perhaps you failed to make yourself understood?
Since we're discussing communication strategies, let me point out the old "don't call me a liar" argument doesn't work outside high school cafeterias, and saying "I'm not being critical" before being critical is so famous for being disingenuous it has its own mountain of memes. When Roses posted a few funny examples of those memes, perhaps the better strategy would have been to post a meme of your own. Here's one:

- Only one per day though, but yeah, you've described it
