Forum Discussion
- I'm sure I don't get it nearly as bad as others on the forum, but it still bothers me. I have posted in the add me thread recently and updated saying I was full and I'm still receiving friend requests! Not sure what can be done about that.
- I make room sometimes. I had 2 people who weren't playing against 11 requests last week though. I can't accept everyone. If I could I would
- It is annoying. I get many per day and i'd rather nobody i don't know added me
- I only replenish my list from the last pages of the most commented findfriends threads, so I have about 5 IRL friends, 5 forum regulars and 90 random neighbors. This makes it easier to drop neighbors who didn't log in for weeks since I don't have to feel guilty, and it makes easier to replace them with new ones. Since I don't really keep track of the ones I delete, nor the ones who might delete me (unless I do a major cleanup for events) when I receive random requests I always accept, if it says list full I reject.
- Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with random requests. Before I ever posted on here, I got all of my neighbors by sending random requests, and many are still neighbors today. Most were from another website and from the finding friends subforum, but several were posters in GD.
I will say I'd never had somebody send a request 3 times in a row until recently, so it might be the same fellow.
And maybe I shouldn't admit this, but when I have room, I let the random requests accumulate until I've got about 15. Then I sit down on Origin and individually check each one's friends list. If it's less than 30, they're probably just starting out, and I decline. Otherwise I google to see if they post here or on the other board, or if they have a hot town. Sounds stalkerish, but for me it's better than just clicking no for everyone, and it has fetched me some really awesome neighbors. - jukan00New Spectator

wow! that is a lot of steps to go through! I can't believe I made the grade :D . - I tried putting in my sig that I was full - people ignored it. Now I just let the friends requests sit unanswered until I have an opening (after dropping an inactive neighbor), then pick one from the waiting list at random.

ha, it's been awhile, Dr. Jukan, but I'm pretty sure I was the one who random requested you. Back when I was looking for neighbors who wouldn't double haunt. 8)- barryriddl474Seasoned NewcomerI've tried different ways to let other forum viewers that my friend list is full, whether as my location or in my signature, and the only thing I ever find myself bothered by is the fact I can't accept all of them. To me, they took the time to type my username, and I appreciate their interest tremendously. Every blue moon, someone will actually PM me first, or just after, and I believe that I have made a spot for every single person who has PM'd me with a request (please do not PM me. I'm am at the max), but it is getting increasingly difficult to find a friend who is inactive (or any of the other 93 things I unfriend for) to make a new spot.
I've deleted every random request that I haven't recognized from here. - barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer
