Recovering missing buildings and characters after Monorail Track Glitch

This is what happened to me, more specifically: in combination with a bridge. Plain transsition from water to land and vv does not result in the same problem and the game acts normally (well, for me anyway).

I was so hopeful I would get through the event mostly glitch-free, and then a whole bunch of characters (Homer, Lisa, Bart, Reverend Lovejoy, Mr. Burns, Skinner, Quimby, Willie) went missing last night. I managed to recover most of them by storing and adding back from inventory and somehow Homer reappeared, but Lisa is still MIA.

According to EA Chat, all I can do is wait for the next few days for some magical patch from the EA studio team. It bothers me a little that it'll take a few days... I'm just thankful I got all the prizes and finished the Rail Yard 5 day bonus or else I'd be more annoyed about this.

Oh, this is great... all the characters that I had gotten back and sent on tasks have disappeared again. And I haven't been doing any redesigning either :(

This glitch just hit me this morning. Thank you, OP! I lost 14 characters, all in the vicinity of the offending track piece, and have them all back now. Most of my tracks are in storage for the time being.
