Haha, I have enough to buy some more land, but I will wait and save up more
  • I only have a little bit of space left. I hope we get some land released soon, because I hate reorganising things. I've only done 2 or 3 tiny, tiny reorganisations of areas in the history of my town, and they were annoying as hell. My wife loves reorganising things in her game, (in our actual house too, :x ), but not me. I get used to things as they are

My town was really rubbish, I just crammed stuff together for more space, but now I have a little strip of land left. Hopefully it doesn't take me too long to save up money
  • The "civil engineering" aspect is my favorite part of the game. I treat my SF like a real town in that it can't be completely wiped out and started from scratch, so when I get a new building, I meticulously work with placement of roads, ponds, landscaping, etc. to get it to look and feel right. I'll spend hours and hours on one new building. This is part of the reason Up Up and Buffet or the Lincoln building don't interest me. I can't see them fitting into my town and I would have to work very hard to get them to fit aesthetically (memories of working in Otto's bus into my all grassy, tree filled School zone).

That's not to say that I don't move buildings and such, but once I feel really good about the placement of an object (meaning, my OCDness subsides), I'll be really hesitant to move it. One instance of this is when I added a large park in front of my government row (courthouse, town hall, police station, prison). I had to relocate 5 or 6 buildings. That took several days of tweaking to feel right again.

Even my house farms have streets and logical access points. The only part of my town that isn't like this is a few squares way off to the side where I stack multipliers and other items necessary for a 5 star rating.

Just reorganised my Springfield but now I have almost no space. Looks like I'm saving up for a lot more land as well as the 4 buildings I have left :(

Just popped on to your SF. It's looks great - really nice. I like plenty of roads. I'm out of land so can't do much, but won't say too much on that as the land issue has already been posted!

Haha, mine was quite plain before and didn't like it. I like my new one, just need to buy more land now
  • I've stopped at the high school task, and instead have been slowly Just buying land. I'm tired of building something nice only to tear it down again when the borders expand. but i don't want to leave stuff in the cramped way i start a building just to get its construction started.

i can't wait till i get all the land, that will take a while.

but i could draw on paper, a plan where i want most major buildings, then build those which will be on property i already own. then i can spend time decorating those knowing they will be permanent. "east side" bldgs would wait undecorated till i have land for them hmm...

because the "civil engineer" in me wants to establish "districts" and put certain bldgs in each. like my"shady side", or financial, or beachfront.

this is why i wish we had a multi select tool. then i could design for hours as usual knowing that effort won't be wasted if i want to move it across town.

I am still in the process of redesigning my town and I am stuck with abnormal spaces, It's frustrating having to spend all that hard-earned money on more land. I was saving up for the escalator to nowhere and now I have to wait even longer  .
