I think people don't know about the tiles. I've been searching the internet and only about 6 months ago tapping on your neighbor's tile made it disappear (according to what I read). That being said,...........
I am also frustrated with this. Especially when I took the time to post on this site specifically asking for friends that would tap on tiles and I'm still getting people that ignore that request. It's time to either contact your friends or delete those that don't know about the tile tapping thing and add new friends.
