I don't like those lists either. I have purposely stayed away from that thread mostly because I don't have a competitive bone in my body. Competition stresses me out and I want no part of it.

However, I don't think that is the reason for the posts. I think the OP just got carried away and was excited. I know I've been guilty of the same over-excitement.

We are all allowed a fanboy/girl moment every now and then lol.

Did I miss something? Have you witnessed poor behavior with regard to those "awards"?

I always claim to be awesome, here and in real life. Why not? I like me (a lot) and it is fun. I don't do it in a "better than you" sort of way, as I am quick to compliment others and do it often. I think that happiness and nice-doing is contagious and I do my part to bring more of it into the world.

"Someone's little list" is not the goal here, for me anyway. I am simply enjoying a bit of fun. It is also true that I believe that a little recognition is a very positive thing.

Besides, shameless self-promotion is how nice guys get ahead. The meek may be set up to inherit the Earth, but I've got it now ;)
