Uh, yes of course I tried tapping them. Still no animation as was originally there. And I'll add that the animation I described in my earlier post did not require tapping originally anyway. This should not be confused with the 3 petting zoo additional purchases (the elephant, pig, and the donkey with socks) which still work and do require tapping to animate.
