I had to learn this from the forums too as it's not part of the game's tutorial. The simpsons house regenerates in 45 seconds. Clicking ANY high payout building before the owner has a chance to resets the clock on that building for them. So if they're, say, asleep or at work you can save them up to 8 hours on another big payout. They then get your handshake's payout and if you did it 8 hours before them on a 12 hour payout building, their next payout is only 4 hours away, instead of the normal 12.

Also, graffiti is the only way you can make these buildings pay out for them.

Now I ask you, would you regenerate a 45 second house ever again?

I understand this rationale, and try to tap high-value buildings when I visit friends, but I'm not 100% convinced that it always works this way. Example in my own town: I clicked today on a handshake over my church after not having been in TSTO for several hours. After clearing it, I tapped again on the church, but it still showed needing the full time until the next payout. In fact, I don't ever remember tapping on a handshake and then having that building having an accelerated payout. Maybe I'm just missing it or misunderstanding, but wanted to bring it up.

Weird, it works for me. I've noticed that we can now double tap a church. As in if a friend of yours tapped it and the necessary time passed I can also tap it and then I can see the name of your friend who first tapped it. I have never had two thumbs up on any building except for those mentioned above, so perhaps, and I'm only speculating here, if two members tap your church or similar, you lose the time benefit?

Oh and you can't see it's been tapped before but if it happens too often it's a sign of a deserted town.
