The BEST Gil Deal yet?

Im not sure cause I started Christmas 2013 but I think so far that was the best cause you got extra donuts

The thing about the Volcano Lair/Springfield Sign deal, was that it was great ONLY if you really wanted the sign itself. Remember that the sign has one of the lowest bonus multiplier to donut cost ratios (4.5% for 170 donuts = .026% per donut spent) in the game. The aesthetics of the sign in your Springfield is awesome, but unless you really WANT the sign itself for its looks, it might not be worth it. But, hey...that ratio goes way up if you consider you're buying the Lair straight up full price at 200 donuts, and getting the sign for 50 more (Package was 250 donuts).

The Volcano Lair is awesome, but I've heard that McBain's (Wolfcastle) tasks with the Film Set (120 donuts) rival Hank Scorpio's flame thrower task. Both the lair and the sign have large footprints, so that might be another negative.

That all being said, yeah, I agree...I'd go with the Lair/Sign over this current deal. If you're spending over 200 donuts, you might as well go big or go home.

Meanwhile, I'll settle for Otto & his school bus along with Brandine, and Mindy Simmons (free!) and call it an event...

The best deals are sales on actual donuts. I don't like waiting around for random stuff to come in bundles.

Think you should get it. 2 solid characters. Otto will always be there (and who knows might be in a new deal?!).

I think the donut ones are best/favorite (either 25% more donuts or 25% off donuts).

Out of the all the "packaged" ones offered, I'd rank this as the best. As someone said above with the sign being iconic, it is huge not a major multiplier. Volcano Lair is awesome though -many say it's hard to place in Springfield though. I think with this current one, you get one of the best premium buildings, a solid character (that also goes to Krustyland), a cool decoration, and finally one of my favorite characters (Dr. Nick). So I'd jump on this one, Otto can wait.

These Gil deals always seem to include something I already have, its like he's stalking me.

The duff factory/Springfield sign deal was good too. I got that one in November when it happened.

The negative for me with that deal was that it came with $50,000, so it felt like I'd be paying donuts for in-game cash which is a HUGE no-no for me. Plus, 300 donuts is pretty expensive.


I'm just realizing that I could pair the Krustylu Studios & Cannon with Channel 6 News and the Film Set, and have one mega production lot. I hate my imagination right now...really trying hard not to give in...


Also, about not waiting for deals, and the extra donuts being the best deal, I think I agree. But, that means I should pull the trigger on Otto NOW, and not wait for him to come in a Gil's deal. For the record, I think he's already one of the best priced building/character combos at 120 donuts, and it seems unlikely he'd come even cheaper in a deal.


Does anyone think Brandine might be the steal of the game right now since her children generate about as much money as a premium building EACH?!? You're pretty much getting a premium character (with premium-priced tasks) and 3 kids generating as much money as a building (at a premium rate - $500 every 20 hrs!)

I hesitate to have the Springfield Sign in my town strictly because of the huge amount of land it takes up. It's dimensions are 16 x 25. A plot of land is 16 x 16, right? So it occupies just over one-and-two-thirds plots of land. (Assuming my math is correct...)I love the way it looks! But that's just more land than I'm willing to sacrifice.

I realize it has a multiplier, but by the time I got to the point of having that much open space, plots of land were over $50,000 each. It would take a long time to reach the break-even point before that multiplier started paying off.

Dollars to donuts (literally!), the most bang for your buck deal was the Volcano Lair/Springfield Sign for 250 donuts (normally 370 donuts for both). That's a savings of 120 donuts.

This deal will save you 50 donuts, but it seems like a great deal for a new premium buyer (like me!)

Still, after buying Brandine the other day, and now within 10 donuts of getting Otto & the School Bus, I don't know if it's worth buying ~$15 more worth of donuts for this deal. Plus, I wouldn't be able to get Otto too, even after spending the $15.

Decisions, decisions...maybe Otto will be offered in the next deal...

I'm pretty much in the exact same boat as you. I have the donuts and I've been wanting Otto. But the chance to get Dr Nick, Sideshow Mel/Krustylu and the Cannon is sorely tempting. I think I'm going to go for it, and here's why: Otto is the best priced combo, he probably won't ever be in a Gill deal, but we'll probably get another event where we can earn donuts. And 120 is not a lot to save as long as you are patient. (And have the confirm spend button on!)

Frankly, other than the donut sales, no other Gill deal has tempted me. I have zero interest in the Springfield Sign. (Too big) And this is my freeium game, so Gill sales aren't going to tempt me.
