It was a joke, and quite a funny joke at that. Something that shouldn't be taken too seriously... But as General003969 said, these jokes always get people riled up. Good job, EA!

I'd counter that with 'Just because you have a quote from a comedian doesn't mean you're right.'

"Offensive" is the wrong word, imo, but it makes it easier for people who like humor that flatters their opinions to discount any complaints about the low quality of the game's political humor as coming from 'oversensitive conservatives'. The game's overplayed 'lol republicans are dumb' shtick is just irritating. The writers are putting their politics before humor, something the show never does.

The man hasn't been President in almost 5 years, and we aren't approaching an election. An Enron joke would have fit better, or go lowbrow with risking a brownout with a nelson laugh. Or golly, go current event rag the NSA or healthcare.org. Or the government shutdown.

Yeah, exactly (although to be fair, Enron jokes are even more outdated than Bush jokes. >.> ) But the more current issues like the healthcare.org debacle might be seen to reflect badly on the current administration, and we can't have that. Could always complain about current republican leaders, but that would require more than a superficial knowledge of U.S. politics. Soooo let's go with an outdated Bush joke!
