    So when we have got Baby T-Rex is there nothing to dig for until next act?
    Is it better to save the shovels for act two or can I get some bonus for finding more gems?

    Only bonus to digging after baby T-Rex is for more fossils (to get prizes or bonuts) and artifacts. Not the gems.

    I'm doing both, saving shovels and digging for more fossils.

    You get crafting currency from digging. I saved up 199 and spend the excess on digging while I wait for the next round.

    You can get over 199 shovels by sending each character using their task list, rather than the building. I'll have 276 tomorrow morning.
