hm I went to neighbors to squash snakes and they didnt seem to count towards my total!

Neighbor snakes counted for all my towns
Counted in my town but not in hubby's... Hmmm- It's easier to pick an open area, then go do something else, and in about 5 minutes, they'll all be where ever you decided to send them. I usually leave a bowl of milk out for them. They seem to like milk.

i try and send all the springfielders on indoor jobs - then all the campfire spawns are the only thing walking around the town
