Train tracks in Springfield

I'm in the "It would be neat, but too big" camp. Think about it. Unless its made of individual pieces of straight and curved track that we could use to design our own track, it would be a huge square track with pillars every so many squares. We'd need to demolish anything in its path to make space for the pillars. There's already not enough land if you have every building and decorate heavily. One would need to lay waste to their town to build the monorail. Either that, or it would be so small as to be a disappointment...
