First...It is a free game. You can play this game and have a hell of a lot of fun without spending a dime.
Second...the stonecutters event was great. Universally loved by all. Shut up.
Sorry but no, it's not a free game, nothing in life is free.
I haven't spent much at all on this game yet (short on money) but you can indeed have fun without paying for anything. You can just have more fun paying. My only problem is that I think the donuts are a bit expensive, and will only buy them when they're on sale.
Argh! That doesn't make it a free game. I can play tones of games for free when I dl demos that doesn't make them free freakin games. It makes them have free content designed to make you purchase more.
This game is far beyond a demo. Your logic is ridiculous.
No it's not, as soon as there are $ attached to a game it's not free. This is not a free game.
It is a free game, before you say it isn't I have yet to spend a penny on it, so would you tell me I'm not playing a free game. It's only not a free game if you decide to OPTIONALLY buy extras
Would you say it's not free to go to town? If it is within walking distance because you have to buy things like clothes there? No? Then your logic is indeed flawed.
You may have a point if they had a level cap or something fr freemium players but they don't, end!
And you're logic on the whole it's designed to make profits, you wouldn't complain if you went to a club an got in free bit had to buy SOME not all drinks if the club next door charged you £10 to get in too, people just like to make unfair complaints that logistically are clearly wrong.panopticnic wrote:
Again, it's not a free game. Second, it's not about entitlement it's about product purchasing. EA has a history of suck. There are entire memes made up designed around EA not listening to their customers.
KL is boring, this is a terrible update.
I thought it was a free game? I've spent diddly squat, so I don't know what your playing. Where is this expectation of self entitlement come from, people act as if they are owed something.epitluck wrote:

Actually it's a profit based game for ea designed to make them $$. Some content of the game is free that doesn't make it a free game.
Technically, most of the content is free, not just some. It can be a free game if you want it to be. It's probably a free game for most people. It is obviously for profit though, just like every product.Igcognita wrote:
I was looking forward to this update, I like my KL. Has the game gotten to a point, that they should only release content that some people think they should. Why does every update have to be some great update. This is the most updates they have given in a short amount of time in a while. If you don't like it, I'm sure there will be another update soon.
I was not that excited about the Stone Cutters Update, there have been a few updates that had prizes that I enjoyed much more, just because they gave most things for free, doesn't make it the best ever. Basically every event up until Xmas 2013, gave away most of its prizes for free, so there has been plenty of great events. Although I didn't care for the method they used for Easter, I prefer the Easter prizes over the StoneCutters prizes any day. Except for the money pool and the pyramid and number 51. Everything else was ok to me, not great ok, and that alright because everything EA releases doesn't have to be great for me to enjoy the game.
And the last time I checked this game was totally free to play, there are plenty of people who play this game and not spend a dollar on it. It's as I've said before, its your personal choice to put money into the game. No matter how much you spend on the game, its still free to play. Plenty of games stop your progress if you don't spend money on the game, Tapped out does not.
Well said. It's really not that big of a deal, for how upset some people seem. Your point about the abundance of updates we've received recently is spot on. I can't believe how frequently they've been updating. It seems like they're doing smaller, but more frequent updates now. I like that. Big updates are nice too, but we normally have to wait forever in between releases. There's probably another level update right around the corner. Everyone who is angry about KL (something that was long overdue for an update) should give it a little while before getting mad. Wait and see, if it takes a long time for them to give a level update, then get annoyed. That's just my take on it. No point in getting angry. They've clearly been giving a lot of attention to the game lately with all the events and updates.badbutttuesday wrote:
I wont get into the free/pay argument... call it what you want but some of the complaining is annoying.
First... the stonecutter event was a good event. They listened and released a summer event. they listened and got rid of the wheel. they listened and got rid of the complete chance base aspect of awards/prizes/content.
the added the radio station FP prize.
second... I've read 5000 posts about how Krustyland is stupid, useless, worthless, a waste of space, etc. They give content for Krustyland and people complain about getting content for Krustyland.
they are trying to make KL a more viable part of the game experience and people complain. I don't get it.
I am not, nor have I ever been one to support EA but come on already. it's a little game we play on our phones to pass the time. My only real concern is that the game works smoothly and that we get a somewhat steady stream of content.
Some of the guys on here spend donuts to do everything in 10 minutes and then complain they are bored. stop speeding things up.
Good sensible post. I agree with all your points. Also, after the Easter Wheel-of-Insanity, most of these updates have been great, especially the Stonecutters event. KL really needed an update. They can't just abandon that part of the game. Players spent a lot of time building their Krustyland and I'm sure the developers spent a long time making it. My advice (even if it wasn't asked for) would be: be patient and maybe try another game for a month if you're bored with TSTO. A new update will come soon most likely.- I was actually glad it was a KL update yesterday! Now I can save even more money for the Sit-N-Rotate! :D
- Meanwhile family guy are about to add real life celebrities to the game. Tsto gets a z list character that no one cares about.

You mean the princess isn't real?
*FAINTS*

Well that is fairly obvious seeing how I Said character. Fact is people have been * for celeb in this game eg Rolling Stones simon Cowell lady gaga and many more. FG release them very quick while ea release z list deadwood characters that no once cares about.
spaz- Really? Keep in mind that we ''might'' see a big update next week.
This big update could be a expansion.
Also Matt Selman is working on a crazy bananas update:
I am writing the most crazy bananas update for Simpsons: Tapped Out that you will ever see in the rest of your given days.
https://twitter.com/mattselman/status/490013505089581056
And scheduled to release in September.
Be happy with lvl 43 maybe it doesnt give much but atleast we get something new for krustyland.
----
Your saying lack of updates?
July 2 - July 4th event
July 17 - Yard Sale
July 23 - Level 43
And next week an update (we still need a new FP prize)
thats already 3 updates in 1 month.
Stonecutters not giving much?
-skins
-decorations
-buildings
-satans anvil!
4th of July was fine... Maybe it wasn't as good as 2013 but atleast we got some cool stuff.
I agree with the yard sale it could have had atleast 1 or 2 freemium items.
Level 43 is a nice update. You know its kinda summer for EA to. I think its cool to have a few things for krustyland.
You don't have to collect 800000$ for a new building. 4000tickets is easy to collect.
As for land I think EA is working on it and that we might see a new expansion update soon.
