If it was a new level, you would have gotten the level up screen even if all your characters were busy.

Mine says that the EVENT ENDS on January 14th, 2014. So, technically, it should ended a year ago. But it does say that the event ends on the 14th. I'm trying to use the keywords "Event" and "Ends".
