Here's the biggest thing. What more do you expect from Valentines Day?

Halloween, Christmas, Even Thanksgiving. Real Holidays. While actually Halloween isn't, but the Treehouse of Horror episodes make Halloween synonymous with the show. I'm happy with it for the worth of valentines day. New Building/Character, Some premium re-releases I didn't get. Good event for me. I don't like having 19 bird baths, but hey, I still cleared the wheel. Content. Content. Content. I'm a fan. Tunnel of love is cool too.

Agreed. And I the love Tunnel of Love in my Krustyland!
  • I enjoyed the event as well. I think there's a rather simple solution to the issues that people have with the wheel, for all future events:

Allow people to purchase *anything* that's on a future wheel with donuts. From the start of the event. Premium players with bad luck can stop griping about the wheel, and patient Freemium players can potentially get everything anyway. Everybody wins, everybody's happy, and EA probably sells just as many donuts for people buying the items as they do people buying extra spins.

So I say bring on the wheel for future events, if it gives freemium players a chance to get premium stuff it's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
  • My first event was Halloween and I just loved it. Then came Christmas, which I really liked except for the damn wheel, I received the Costco at the very end of the event, but I enjoyed the new buildings and characters. Next came Valentines, my first one, and yes it was less intensive, thank God. The odds on this wheel were ok and I cleared it easily this time. We got three new female characters, Shauna, Brandine and Mindy. That is a plus and I love watching my Brandine wandering the town being pregnant, it will be like that for many months. :D I sped up the first kid, so it is also a new character. Like everyone, I received too many bird baths, pink fountains and gazebos, but who cares, if they don't fit, they will stay in my inventory until next year.

So all in all, yes I did appreciate this event, can't wait for the next one. :)

It seems that no-one else agrees with me, why did you guys not like this ipdate. I thoight it was fun, pleasent and calming.

    calming????

wow i wish i had that perspective. i NEED calming. i thought playing this game would be calming. it most certainly is not.

instead I'm obsessed with collecting hearts and timing my visits for maximum collection. for the last week I've tried to get the last wheel object.

i would really like that tunnel of love for my KL. i try really hard to earn any bonus items because i can't afford to buy them.

but EA makes it quite obvious they don't care at all about how much time you contribute. because these things aren't earnable based on time spent logged in and active.

as long as they use wheels which should be random but most likely are not, since the results indicate otherwise, then these events will continue to diminish the user experience, pushing people potentially to a limit where they won't want to play anymore. let alone PAY anymore.

it makes no sense to include elements that trigger animosity toward the game. the frustration is not a lack of skill like other games, it is a lack of luck, which is bogus if the odds are rigged.

give me a gazebo, evil wheel!!!

OK time to collect hearts for spin #51....grrrr

  • I'd give you a gazebo if I could, junk. I have more than I'm ever likely to use.

I can agree, for me it was the lovely lamp post. I just did finally clear, but that took wayyy too long and wayyyyyy too many spins. I have been waiting for a hot fix that would change the wheel odds, but I don't know if that is actually coming. I expected it on Thursday or Friday, and it never came.

    thanks i appreciate the sentiment!

i know i have to maintain patience. there is some time left. but i also know once it's gone it's gone. i don't have the twirl n' hurl ride because i ran out of time back then. or the dolphin, which i had the goo for the morning the update rolled and it screwed me. ugh.

i don't like games that "suck just like real life". i play games to escape that sucking. as much as i love the Simpsons, EA makes it very hard to really love this game. its like a pet that keeps peeing in your bed.

  • I have to admit I enjoyed the event for a lot of reasons. I finally added some friends and became more social after four months of play. There were two new plant decorations to add variety (renamed the V tree a pomegranate so it would fit in year 'round). The task animations are great, and I would like to see Homer and Marge promenade all the time. At a loss as to why Mindy couldn't continue to visit Madame Chow-down's as much as she likes to nosh. I also like that Cletus' farm yields a crop I can use in the game, the rosebushes. In regards to the wheel, it's not much different than the scratch-r, the outcome is pre-determined, it's just a part of the gambling aspect of the game and I don't read a lot of whining and teeth-gnashing over that. I cleared it on less than 25 spins a few days ago. Looking forward to the next event and level 39.
