Visiting Friends-Best Course of Action

So having had this event all up and running just a few minutes, this whole thing shows an awful lot of promise to be my favourite Springfield Event, finally supplanting the Stonecutters' Event. I'm totally obsessive with these events and don't get much sleep throughout them (don't tell the family!!)! My only sticking point, as usual is the best course of action when visiting Friends. Without actually visiting friends yet, I understand you can either tap criminals, or phones, which are over buildings. One does the usual limited-to-30-taps thing, while the other goes on all the way. Does this work independently of each other? Other very similar questions I could list for miles? Basically, what's the best tactic for them to maximise (or get reasonable amounts of rods) from visiting friends?

Hi

Just to make you aware. You tap both phones AND criminals in your neighbours towns not just one or the other. There are now 6 actions instead of 3 as normal. :)

Does tapping criminals in friends' towns help them in any way? When I stop getting rods from criminals, is there any sense to keep tapping them in the following towns or do I just keep tapping buildings?

Tapping the criminals don't help your neighbors, they are replacements for your normal daily tapping actions. The benefit of tapping the criminals is money/XP/chances at donuts.

Only the buildings help your neighbors out, which still gives you rods until you reach your daily friend limit. Tap away at both, if you are visiting their town anyway might as well get the money/XP/chance at donuts while you can.

I keep seeing this thing mentioned where only your first 30 or so friends works, however I haven't seen anything like that. I just keep tapping and all of my friends work the same way (apart from the handful that don't log on enough and thus don't have buildings available).

Have I been getting lucky for some reason, or is it just doing something I'm missing?
  • Sorry, I mean you get event currency drops from your first 30 taps in neighbours' Springfields normally, making there little point in visiting all of your friends. That's different this time! It's nice!!!
  • Again, sorry, I didn't explain that very well!! Normally when an event is on you visit Friends. Your first 30 taps will give you the event currency, whatever that may be, but then you can visit all the rest of your friends, but you're only gonna get the usual money/XP/donuts/FPs. This time however, things are different!! Now you get event currency (rods right now) from EVERY friend tap!! Hurrah!!!

Hope that made sense this time, it was time to tap in my Springfield, so I couldn't type long!!!

Those are all good, but Claus Co is the only one I don't have, so I'd also add Springfield Museum, the Atomic Collider and most premium buildings as I don't have many of them!!
