Calm yourself down. Not everybody has updated yet (I haven't and won't be able to for another 16 hours), and we already know from experience that EA's "countdowns" aren't very accurate.

I don't think you are right on this one. It is true that it says that we should give presents to our neighbours to achieve the community goals, but the presents help towards the goals by giving gift cards to the ones who receive them + open them.
It clearly says the counter goes up for every gift bag left in a friends town.. not gift cards.. EA will probably have to revise this, or start giving large packs of gift bags to hand out daily.. but the fact it requires people to visit might be the problem.. some people probably will just sit there and get everything without needing to visit people.
