I am also clearing out some land for new Halloween decorations and getting my current decos. I have redesigned some areas in preparation for the new release. This will be my third Halloween event, as I started playing right as Halloween 2012 ended. My friends started then and loved the game and told me about it.
I also have just purchased donuts to buy the Octoberfest deals. Since they offered Uter and Greta at a reduced rate I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Hopefully they'll both be able to trick or treat. And even if Chief Wiggum has a Halloween task, I may still use the Stein outfit for his Halloween costume. Yeah, I like it that much :)
I am still doing some neighbor visits this evening. But I will not tomorrow to be ready. I really hope the update is released Tuesday because that is actually an easier day of work for me. Assuming my wifi is working fine, I should be able to play several times.
