Well they teased us the Monorail and a playable Sideshow Bob in January 2014...
They made a joke about it they didn't show a full on picture and said "coming soon" plus they even posted that its a hint towards the next update on the facebook page. Its basically confirmed.

You're right. It could be another. The more common usage would, however, be " next". Example: I'm 64, and my birthday is in May. If I say "My husband will probably bring me See's bordeaux candy for my upcoming birthday", it is more likely that I am referring to my 65th than to my 70th, although both are technically accurate.
