As I mentioned yesterday on a different thread, the first Twilight was painful.
I really disliked Mulholland Drive. I know people think its wonderful, but I always maintain that it is a failure for being neither erotic or thrilling.
I'll see your Battlefield Earth and raise you a Wing Commander! Freddy Prinze Jr. baby! Ugh, Wing Commander was bad.
I too saw Battlefield Earth in theaters. It is as bad as everyone says it is. Badly written, badly acted, badly produced, badly conceived. We went with a group of friends, and we just laughed through the whole thing. My brother and I being the only ones to have read the book and were all met with derisive snorts when we said that the book is much better.
The book is actually pretty good -- if you accept Scientology into your....no just kidding on the Scientology bit. Its pretty good if you take it as pulp sci-fi from the 1950-60s.

Worst movie ever seen in a theater: Battlefield Earth. Can you even imagine watching that in a theater? Worse, I went with family and didn't take my own car, so I couldn't leave. My brother had read the book and insisted on watching it all the way through. I think I actually cried at one point (I was about 22); it was that bad. By the time it was over, most people had already left, and we exited in silence. Outside, we all turned to my brother, and at last, words were spoken: "I'm sorry," he said, head lowered. It's been about a decade, and I still don't forgive him.
