how do you know if I wear a cape or not . ;) :D

I have a new splash screen but no event, just snow, now I dare say I'm wrong but I would have sworn that when you get a new update you also get the event start fairly soon afterwards???
Or does a certain character need to be free that I currently have on a 24hr task???

I'm used to seeing it in the afternoon, if I rightly remember sometime ago, I was playing the game one morning, it still had current splash screen up, and either I had been going in and out of the app, coming back from OS or in game, but in the afternoon the app closed and I had to go back in and then it started the update.
Cannot remember if event came up straight away or when a specific character completed their job and became available???

My view is, I am not used to seeing the update this early 9:30 in UK on a Wednesday???

Strangely, Cthulhu's statue has gone and in its place is a large picture like drive in screen of Cthulhu but it is parallel to the iPad screen not the isometric layout???

Every single big event of the last year has been download on Tuesday and start on Wednesday at 1400 or 1500 GMT. The download may become available at anytime on Tuesday but the event itself has started on Wednesday, at either 1400 or 1500 GMT

I just don't recall ever seeing it on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning???

The time you were playing in the morning and it made you update sounds like a forced update, which means it was in the store for a day or more before that and you had not downloaded it yet.

I've always caught the start of an update, never been late unless going up from one act to another, probably about the only benefit of getting work on an ad hoc basis.
I can recall playing on a previous update on a Wednesday morning and a new one in the afternoon, before now.
But I can honestly say I can never remember an update that early, and definitely not on a Wednesday.
That said I'm always too busy playing to check the updates and I never download it as a result, and as it's not mine I don't know how the updates are set up.
The only other times I can recall it updating in the morning is when I had already been on it, but today it did it first thing???
It just hasn't done it before what it has done today and I just found it a bit strange.

For roughly the last years worth of events the update has been released for download on the Tuesday and the actual event has started approximately 1400 to 1500 GMT, I guess you just happened to miss it some how.
