Your character MUST be on "jobs" to receive Valentines Cards

Yeah, what is required to receive hearts seems to change daily.

The other side though is when visiting, you should have a chance to get hearts as well.

And while its hit or miss whether you get one, the constant seems to be that if the character associated with the building is not on task they can get a heart, but the visitor will not.

So, what is the argument against putting characters on tasks?

Just visiting myself from another town and this was not constant. I only received one heart while visiting, but all characters were on tasks. I have no argument against keeping them on tasks. In fact, mine are always doing something, but it appears to have no bearing on the hearts received on either side.

Re-read. I said its hit or miss if you get a heart if they are on task.

But you apparently will not if the character is not on a task.
